The Urban Midwife
Services
Licensed midwives are considered primary care providers for pregnant women during pregnancy, birth, and the first six weeks postpartum.
This includes labs, prenatal and postpartum checks-up for mother and baby, ultrasounds, nutrition counseling, breastfeeding support, and much more.
Meet Kristine
I never had any intention to become a midwife, however when I found myself pregnant with my third child, I chose a midwife. This was mostly due to financial considerations, midwifery was much less expensive.
What I discovered during that pregnancy was a whole new world of personalized, face-to-face, thorough care that I had not experienced with my hospital births. My midwife lilstend to me, gave me time and attention, and helped to cultivate a relationship of trust.
This experience began my journey into the world of birth support. First as a doula, then a liscened midwife.
